What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

This game was a difficult one- not because of anything else, but Delhi’s doomed humid weather!

I was honestly out of stamina in the first 10 minutes. I mean, my stamina is not all that bad but this weather sure sucks all your energy away like a good old ex :p. But well, the point is, I remained in the game still- changing my breathing pattern- doing double breathing so I can run after those beast of players & defend the goal like my life depends on it!

I played fine. It was also a bigger game, that also changes my game style which I don’t feel the most confident about. But, the highlight of the game wasn’t that we drew against a solid team in the last 5 minutes after being 3 up , it was how I challenged myself to play despite feeling physically and mentally fatigued, and, not just keeping at it, but also playing fairly good.

This game helped me realize my strength yesterday- tolerating discomfort and doing so gracefully for something I ABSOLUTELY LOVE.

It would have been easy to keep subbing out, not running much and not giving my 100% in the game, but I kept at it with all my strength and will, and that’s what counts at the end of the day, no?

Keeping showing up despite the challenges that put you down like anything, that’s what life is about too!

And that’s what these 75 odd minutes reminded me yesterday- I have it in me to do my best despite whatever, all that matters is the faith I keep in things, like I do in football.
